Most water guns make kids do the work. Pump, aim, one squirt, pump again. This one runs off a rechargeable battery, so it fires a continuous stream for as long as they hold the trigger. The muzzle lights up every time it fires, which is the part they will show you roughly forty times on the first afternoon.
The tank is a 340cc twist-off drum. Fill it at any tap, twist it back on, done in seconds. It charges over USB with the cable and battery already in the box, so there is nothing extra to buy and no AA batteries to keep replacing.

Questions
Does it need batteries?
No. The rechargeable battery and USB cable are in the box. Charge it before the first use.
Is it too heavy for a younger child?
It is 10.8 inches and light enough for most six year olds to hold one handed. There is no pumping action, so there is no strength needed to operate it.
How long does a charge last?
Long enough for an afternoon of normal play. Charge it the night before a party and you will not think about it again.
Can it draw water from a pool?
Fill the tank from the pool, a bucket or a tap. Twist the drum off, fill, twist it back on.
